Rivertrees Country Inn

Nestled in the foothills of Mt Meru with a majestic view of the great Kilimanjaro. Set in Northern Tanzania just outside the bustling safari town of Arusha.

The inn is a charming country estate that was once an old coffee farm, and still retains the nostalgic air of a well-loved homestead. Sprawling ten acres of fertile greenery, the grounds are a natural extension of Mt Meru’s sloping foothills and offer a sanctuary for the birds and wildlife indigenous to the area. Elegantly rustic cottages are dotted along the river and in thickets of tall trees, while lush lawns and birdsong make for a peaceful and picturesque setting. Set in the heart of an area rich in nature reserves, montane forests and vibrant village culture, the scope for exploration is endless.

The restaurant concocts tasty meals of garden-fresh ingredients and old family recipes, as well as oven-fired pizzas and the best of the region’s locally grown coffees. Delicious candle-lit dinners are served by the warmth of the fireplace, or under the stars and the watchful eyes of resident owls.

Rivertrees combines unpretentious comfort with subtle accents of style to create a timeless pause in a traveler’s journey, and a sense of warmth and genuine welcome.

Kuro Tarangire

Kuro Tarangire is set amid a grove of Acacia and Kigelia trees close to the Tarangire River – often a dry, sandy course snaking through this quiet area of the park. The area sees the rhythmic movement of wildlife as it traverses the park from the hills in the west to the swamps on the eastern side. Conscious of wanting to experience this place in a way that harmonizes with the natural tempo, without overpowering it, Nomad have created a camp with a light footprint. That’s not to say that it isn’t comfortable though. Six light and stylish safari rooms are complete with comfortable beds, en-suite indoor and outdoor bucket and flushing loos. The family tent has two en-suite bedrooms and an adjoining corridor which is zipped up at night to make it safe for little ones to reach their parents should they need to. They rest amongst the trees with views over the African bush. You will gather to share meals and relax under the cool grass thatch of the open-sided lounge and dining area which is furnished with hides and canvas, brought to life with a touch of colorful and tactile textiles, all inspired by the Maasai.

Gibbs Farm

Located on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater lies Gibb’s Farm. Founded in the 1920s as a coffee plantation, we embrace traditional East African hospitality with our roots extending deep into the land and our heritage here.

An idyllic retreat while exploring the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara national parks, as well as Lake Eyasi, on safari in Tanzania. Recline with a cup of freshly roasted coffee overlooking the Great Rift Valley in lush surroundings.
